Armando Cabral AW11
Last season, after one of my many visits to the Showroom Next Door, I reported on a new shoe find that captured your attention. The name Armando Cabral might have been familiar to you at the time, but the debut of his eponymous shoe collection made you see him in a fresh light. Now, Cabral is quite simply one of the most recognisable male models but having already made his mark on the catwalk,

Mr Hare AW11 Idolescents
As you should all know by now Mr Hare, the brand not the man, was conceived at a roadside tapas bar in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Andalucia, Spain on July 23rd 2008. The brand was born out of his realisation that there just were not enough shoes in the world that he liked. Thankfully, for us he decided to do something about it. Ever the shoe aficionado, Hare looked to the woven

Showroom Next Door For AW11
For the last three seasons my London Fashion Week has begun with an elongated visit to the ever fruitful, Touba Distrubution curated, Showroom Next Door. Why should AW11 be any different? So, before I was seduced by the charms of b Store's reimagined, My Own Private Idaho inspired functional menswear whilst nodding along to the sounds of Blood Music (more on that later), I explored the latest

LCF MA Graduate Showcase: Michelle Quick
To celebrate the cream of the incoming crop of LCF MA graduates we have been speaking to each of our favourite students to learn more about their collections and their experiences at LCF. We kicked off this year's series with prize winning Matteo Molinari before turning our attentions to the wood craft of Yan Liang. Now it is time to highlight a hugely talented footwear design graduate that left

Collections... Shoes
"I have just caught the shoe bug and would love to see a cross section of your collection Steve. Would make a great post..." Anonymous ReaderWhat follows is a direct result of the above anonymous comment received on our Style Stalking feature and an enthusiastic nudge administered by EJ. The shoe bug is indeed contagious and I could not shirk the opportunity to unveil my collection. Now, as you

Advent - Day Twelve
Not many designers would be comfortable designing clothes for the Clash and U2 to Gieves & Hawkes but Joe Casely-Hayford isn't just any designer. Casely-Hayford has always started from a traditional standpoint before subverting it in that English way. With the collaboration with John Lewis going from strength to strength and plans currently afoot with Barney's, Isetan and Comme des Garçons in

Advent - Day Eleven
Over the last five seasons Casely-Hayford have created a signature style of relaxed masculine sartorial proportions, fused with an injection of London's heady cocktail of youth culture. They have fast become one of our favourite labels. As a weekend treat we decided to reveal what the father and son design duo wanted to find wrapped up underneath their Christmas tree this year. First up,

Advent - Day Eight
We have long admired the snapshots of style that Tommy Ton captures for his own site Jak & Jil and those for GQ. Tommy's images are at times breathtaking and frequently more inspiring than the happenings of any catwalk. His roving eye scans and focuses on the details that are often overlooked but are in fact so very important. Tommy can zoom in on a contrasting cuff, tailoring quirk, novel print

Advent - Day Four
The moment we decided to open up this festive feature to our favourite menswear personalities we knew we had to ask Carolyn Massey. Regular readers will know how much we have supported this London designer over the years and our love for her and her designs only grows with each season. Here, she reveals what she would like to unwrap on Christmas morning while mentioning the importance of buying

The Bunney, the Hare and the shoe horn
Have you heard the story about the bunney, the hare and the shoe horn? When I heard that two of my favourite designers were joining forces to create a limited edition object, I could not contain my excitement. Jewellery designer Bunney and master shoemaker Mr Hare decided to create a shoe horn like no other. When I hear the term 'shoe horn' my mind is filled with images of cheap plastic forms

Hosting Mr Hare at Liberty's
On Friday 26th November, as part of the Liberty’s shoe weekend, Mr. Hare will be holding a Q&A session in the men’s shoe department between 5pm and 7pm. Remarkably, he has asked me to host the evening. *Gulp*. There's no doubt that I will need your moral support so please join us for our fireside chat and cocktails evening. Weighty shoe subjects such as Blake construction in wet climates, the new

Experiencing Harris Tweed
The story of Harris Tweed is one of a remote island community that lies between the Highlands of Scotland on the north west tip of Europe and the North Atlantic Ocean. I have lusted over this truly unique fabric and have longed to visit the beautiful setting in which it is created for some time now. Thankfully, the launch of the Nike Air Royalty Harris Tweed meant that myself and Susie were
